STILL LIFE van regisseur Uberto Pasolini met hoofdrollen voor Eddie Marsan en Joanne Froggatt is gisteren bekroond met drie prijzen op het Filmfestival van Venetië. De film ontving de Orizzonti Award voor Beste Regisseur, de Pasinetti Italian Critics Award en de CICAE Art Cinema Award.

John May (Eddie Marsan) is een stipte en goed georganiseerde gemeenteambtenaar die belast is met het vinden van de nabestaanden van hen die alleen zijn gestorven. Wanneer zijn afdeling wordt afgeslankt, moet John extra zijn best doen om zijn laatste zaak rond te krijgen. Het wordt voor hem een bevrijdende reis die hem in staat stelt om eindelijk zijn eigen leven echt te gaan leiden.

"Out of a strong competition of 17 films the Cicae Jury chose unanimously STILL LIFE by Uberto Pasolini. The film tells the story of a public servant who gives dignity to people who die alone. Eddie Marsan gives convincing outstanding performance in playing this reserved insular man who shows us what life is worth living for. The jury is convinced that the universal subject and the remarkable cinematographic quality of this film will draw audiences to European arthouse cinemas across the borders."

Wild Bunch zal STILL LIFE op 12 december uitbrengen in de Nederlandse filmtheaters.
